I got my toyotec lift on Sat, and took it to get aligned today. the tech pointed out that there is very little thread left going into the outer tie rod. has anyone else had this problem on a second gen,

    i have an 06 4x4

tried searching and couldn't find a similar subject

That does not sound safe. I would take it somewhere else.

I took a good look at it, and there really isnt anything can be done without screwing up the toe.
Didn't know if anyone else has noticed this and what your solution was?

Look at how many threads are left on the other side. I think someone may have taken the steering wheel off and not put it back on center. Have you had the airbag recall done?

Thanks for the idea. I'll check next time I'm home. And no i have not done the airbag recall, but I've only owned the truck for 11 months now

When the toe is adjusted you can have one side screwed in further and the opposite side not screwed in as much (ideally they would be somewhat even). Any good alignment tech should not have issue correcting this. A quick fix would be to screw it in and count the rotations than unscrew the opposite side the same amount of rotations. Like my earlier post if this was to come loose = bad news. Broken tie-rod or coming apart can cause the vehicle to flip if this happens at speed.

Edit: I would take it easy on your suspension until you get it sorted out.

Could not find any difference in the amount of threads on either side.
