Transmission went out :( need help finding another

    Hi my transmision went out over the weekend and i need to find another somewhere. my truck is a 1999 taco trd 4wd 3.4l 6cly and what i need to know is what transmissions can i use like will 4runners work or prerunners and also what year models ? i found one on ebay for a 2002 prerunner 3.4l 6cly and it says it would work on a 4wd if i swap out the rear of the transmission can any one comfrim this? if not dose any one know of a good online slavage that deals with toyotas? thanks in advance

    4.10 gears, sliders, and lots of buttons.
    You have an A340F tranny....find one from a 4x4 if you can as the tail of the tranny is different, and Im not sure it can be swapped out.

    when a guy i know was going thru his prerunner-4x4 swap...he started out planning on using his prerunner tranny...but it was going to be a MAJOR PITA to change the tranny over to a 4wd version...

    find a 4x4 tranny and save yourself the headaches

    its not worth the hassle, try to find one out of a 4x4, did u check craigslist?

    yeah i checked crigslist it has crap around here for tacoma parts. I will call some salvage yards as well as check ebay for a 4x4 one

    also what year models should i look for on a 4x4 one?
