Identify this bolt

What is this bolt? Just found it in my glove box.

Wing on one end, dime sized silver cap on the other that screws into the end of the bolt.

 

You think this came from your truck? Did you buy your truck new?

Uhh... that looks like the one that holds the Flux Capacitor Recirculation Valve cap on.... Might wanna get that checked out.

 

Thats a threaded thermal coupler.

 

Anal probe with built in temp and speed readout?

 

Could it possibly be for the spare tire?

 

I knew there was a reason when I got to 88 nothing happened.

I did have my spare changed out recently so it could be from underneath there

 

The spare tire is held up by a cable wire on a pulley. Maybe for the stock bottle jack, but iirc, it was held in the rear seat compartment with a rubber strap.
On my Ford trucks, they use that wing nut and bolt for the bottle jack under the hood.

 

Yep not bottle jack. Maybe tire shop got confused and put it in there thinking it was from my truck.

 

Yeah looks like a bolt that holds down a spare in the trunk of a honda civic or some other type car... Don't recognize it from our trucks.

 

IIRC, 2012+ went back to a chain style spare tire winch, unlike our cable style. I still don't think that bolt would be from that though? Anybody else with a '12 or '13 dropped their spare yet?

 

you're right. had my spare off the last 2 days. chain type. don't think i saw a bolt like that under there anywhere??

 

Looks like a thumb screw, so it would just be for holding something secure. Don't think it's from a Tacoma, put it in the toolbox it will show up if needed.

 

Looks like air filter bolt from my birtbike.

 

Don't worry about it. I always end up with extra nuts and bolts after I work on things. Just throw it out.

 

stuff it down the intake...it'll find it's way home.
