I towed my cargo trailer for the first time (6x10 loaded with hardwood lumber) today. While it felt "ok" I feel like I could use a little extra in the rear spring dept. My truck came with the tow pkg and the 4 leaf pack, btw. It's likely good to go as is, but I'm wodering if anyone else has the 550s on a 12 or a 13.

I read in another post that they raise the rear of the truck a little which is ok.

    Thanks for replys.

Actually, I'm thinking these are probably the same on any 05+ Taco. Does anyone here have/like the 550s and did they raise the rear quite a bit?

I have the 550's on my '09 with the OEM 3-leaf pack. They are tightened all the way down and haven't changed either the ride quality or height in any way. My understanding is that they actually don't have any affect until there is a load and the OEM springs sag. We pulled a 4,000-lb total load (trailer/car) over 1000 miles and the truck handled great.

Anyone know if there is another Hellwig for my Taco? I'm thinking I might want to go a little beefier than the 550. I'm not big on the longer leaf from them that requires removing any of the stock springs. I want bolt-on that I can easily do in my garage.

    Thanks

I have the Hellwig's on my 2012 with the towing package. I am with Ray in that there should be no difference until you are hauling a load. I have noticed no difference in the ride normally but it does stiffin a bit once you start hauling.

I'm going to order the 550s for mine. I'm guessing that the 2013s are exactly the same as the 12s?

I'm also wondering where the best price is. I know some places add a lot for shipping. Thanks
