During the winter I'll carefully do the wand spray carwash, I don't use their brush though; As soon as it stops freezing I'm back to detail mode in the driveway.

Here the roads are covered in salt/ice/snowmelt/water for a three month stretch, I don't worry about keeping it clean, just getting the salt off.

I'd be very cautious about using hot water on freezing cold glass. Keeping your hands warm may not be worth the cost of cracked glass.
If you're talking, "warmer-than-winter-hose-water" temperature, that's fine but I wouldn't go past warm water.

Pick up some Optimum No Rinse if you want to clean the exterior of the truck and avoid using a hose.

I wash my truck once or twice a week If i drive it in the snow. I wash my girls car weekly. I have a pressurewasher at home but will run it to a car wash and spray it off..Mainly underside and jams...Take it home and dry it in a heated garage.

I try to wash it frequently to get the salt off, I'll usually finish up with the spotless rinse. Always at a DIY car wash.

I don't care about the paint, I just don't want rust.

I wash mine in the CAT shop since i've been employed there:brianr: . They have an amazing powerwasher hooked to a boiler and awesome soap. Just have to be careful not to strip paint with the bitch:eek:
