Spec D headlights (garbage, Do not buy) replaced bulb with H7 80W Osram Off Road bulb so I could actually see. The lights they send do not put off any light at all and it's impossible to see anything at night... TOYO Open County AT III's (smooth ride, not loud) with Matte Black 17-In. TRD PRO Wheels Plasti dipped emblems and Bull Bar (Lasted about 2 years, need to spray them again)
sounds like you're putting this together yourself... I took the easy (and more expensive) way out and just bought the entire kit from Hornblasters.com, but I after the fact, it would have been a lot cheaper to just go to the hardware store and buy the parts...

I would definitely recommend a 5 Gallon Tank!!! I have a 2 gallon and it says it'll give an 8 second blast, but it's more like 6...

As far as the push button, just go to Radio Shack and look in the wiring section with all the little drawers... Find the momentary buttons and choose a color... Get the one with 2 prongs... Mine came in a 2-pack with a red and black button...

It also might be a good idea to join TrainHornForums.com They helped me out a lot when it came time for wiring... And I'm pretty sure there's a part list on there...

Oh, and you will be doing a LOT of grounding wires, so MAKE SURE you get good clean grounds the first time! I had my train horn all installed, but had to back track and re do 3 of my grounds to make it work...

Hope this helps and feel free to pm me with anything else... I took my time and it took me about a month off and on to install...
Oh, And make sure you post a video of the final product!!!

Ive got a viair constant duty cycle compressor and 5 gallon tank. Auto on and off to 150psi. I got a set of horns from work. Not authentic train horns but didn't want to drop 500 to 700 bucks on a set of Nathan P3's and try to shoehorn them in somewhere. The horns I have are sold at Northern tool with the 12v solenoid and are called Siberian Express. Plenty loud and the horns can be removed from the manifold and separated by air line to allow for mounting. Mine are behind the stock grill.

[IMG] I don't have one yet but when the time comes I want a Nathan 5 chime. With 100 LBS of air it will knock your dick in the dirt!

Thanks a ton that really helped clear some things up. Where did you mount your system ? do you have pictures ? I was thinking about mounting it near where the spare tire is since i can use it anyway. Im looking at getting just a basic kit with a 1 gal tank tho, im not wanting something i can blast for a long time but just something for when people cut me off or do something stupid. Everything i see about the tank and compressor says it needs to be mounted in the upright position. I was thinking about making a steel plate to mount the kit to then mount it to the truck but im not 100% on anything yet

    Not enough.
I seen a kid my age get his ass beat by a father (he thought it would be funny to blow his horn as the dad was carrying his sleeping toddler through the crosswalk). The dude handed the kid to his wife and literally pulled the other guy out of his bro-dozer and pummeled him pretty good.

Needless to say, nobody stopped him.

    Just don't be like him.

I was interested in something like this. But does anyone know where to find a cheap Semi-Truck horn. I don't want it insanely loud but just to prank some people at school. All I would need is the air hoses and horns.

is there a possibility of being on the hook if you give someone a heart attack? Given the right medical condition, it can happen.

on a train, in an area where trains run, one sort of can expect a train horn at any moment. Common sense. Even an old man with a bad ticker can brace his mind for it. It's expected.
But in a parking lot, or at a curbside, when a smartass with a simple mind and a girly laugh blows the horn that is meant to clear a corridor up to a mile ahead right up peoples' asses, shit can happen. And one day one of them is going to wish they never had it:)

I know this is a bit late, but I recently installed one on in my 09 tacoma. I got the HornBlasters Shocker Classic 228VX Train Horn Kit. Comes with pretty much everything you need. The hardest part is finding a place to install and wiring, I have mine in my bed and my horns where the spare use to be. I know have the spare in my bed tied down to it doesn't move anywhere and I also have a bed cover that covers up everything.
