How long should I go before the initial oil change. Should there be an oil change before the free dealer change?

Change per the manuals recomendation.

Yeah, never had a new vehicle before, but I thought that there was a lot of debris in the first 1-2k miles that needed to come out?

Older vehicles, maybe. new vehicles are fine to follow the manufacture guide from the get go.
