I'm in the market for a folding cover. Would like to know if the extang solid has a locking mechanism that locks onto tail gate making the gate inaccessible and secure or must I purchase a not so great pop n lock to keep cover and items in bed secure. I'm not looking forward to a handle that doesn't feel as good as the OEM. I heard it doesn't open sometimes and one must keep it lubed or something. Why doesn't toyota include a locking tail gate with the Tacomas???

extant solid fold, plasti dipped grille, lime green emblem, lime green badges, deflapped
i have that same top, no it does not have a lock on it, but all u need is to get the locking tailgate handle and they cant get into it, since the top only folds open from the inside, and the handle they sell at the dealer for $50 works just fine for me, no sticking not hard opening nothing, works and feels just fine

I love my extang. just do the above and spend an extra $40-50 for locking tailgate handle.
