Why is my Tacoma not responding quickly?

    Hi guys, I’m having a problem with my truck every time Im on a traffic light and press the pedal my truck takes like 1 second to respond why is that? This wasn’t happening before and start to bother me a lot it feel like the car is drowning and one’s he take some air respond normally, do you guy have an idea why is this happening? :(

    How many klicks you got on her?.... My first guess would be to clean the MAF sensor and the throttle body. I did that at 80,000 and it made a huge difference in the response time..... There is a how to on here that I used...

    Thanks, I was thinking on that, my car has 80K too so i had a good chance that your suggestion work, thanks and yes the air filter is new :cool:

    Factory Monster Truck Package with reverse gear.
    That happened on my '11 and I asked the question you did about lag response and came to conclusion it was all the electronic traction controls put on the 09's and up.

    Like Over60 said, definitely clean the maf and throttle body, even give your spark plugs an inspection. So when you give it gas there is no response and then it kicks in hard or does the rpms slowly rise? Check wire plug at throttle body make sure it is secure.
