    Lurker turned member here from Texas, just wanted to say hello and introduce myself. I've been looking to buy a Tacoma for over a month now but just haven't come across the right truck yet.
    Great forum, lots of helpful info. I'm not a truck guy but I'm a sport car/bike guy and I'm definitely not new to Toyotas.

    Looking forward to updating this thread in the future once I find my Tacoma to join my MK2 MR2 Turbo in the garage :D

    It's deff not frowned upon! My suggestion would just be on the 2nd gen main page (or first if that's what you're looking into)... The questions come up tons of times before of your question may be already answered, could be worth looking around first.

    Well I finally got my Tacoma. After looking since August for a 1st gen and not finding what I was looking for, I went 2nd gen and found a clean '05 6sp access cab with 63k on the clock and TRD off road package. I'm definitely enjoying the extra space fo the suicide doors and the bigger room of the 2nd gen compared to the 1st gen. Still wish I could have found a 1st gen would definitely like the more modern look and feel of the 2nd gen.
