    Hey Guys,
Was looking under my truck the other day and noticed my leafs which are the TSB's are flattening out and even curved the opposite way with nothing in the bed other than my hockey gear. I have 75,000 kms on my 09 now and have extended warranty until 100k. I was in the dealer the other day and explained it to the service guy and he just said that basically there not made to carry much and are flat when they are new and didn't even take a look at mine. I have a couple questions, first, would this be something that should be covered under the warranty? and what should I complain about when I have it in for it's next oil change other than my leafs are flat?

    Thanks for any help

I know it'll be the outcome, but if warranty will cover it I'm not going to buy them, thats the reason I bought the extra warranty

They won't cover a nice set of Dakars anyway.

    .
The leafs on these trucks are the Achilles Heel. Toyota got as cheap as they could. Most of the members here do some type of modification in this area, whether it's air-bags/new shocks/add-a-leafs or simply replace the entire leaf pack altogether. Unfortunetely any dealer will probably fight you tooth and nial to keep from replacing those, in any event, even if you are successful, you will get the same leafs with (eventually), the same result.
That being said, and not knowing how heavy said gear is and how often you haul it, if that gear doesn't normally go to the weight limit and is not a constant duty, an inexpensive alternative might be a 1 1/2 inch add-a-leaf from someplace like Wheeler's Off Road and have it installed by a reputable shop. This would raise the truck back up to around it's stock height and lengthen the life of your leafs. If you are seeking a more permanent fix then the ultimate would be to replace the whole leaf set up altogether, the creme de la creme would probably be a custom set of leafs from Alcan who will build you a set designed specifically for your weights and height needs. There are other companies out there as well but the two i described are the two ends of the spectrum in terms of capability and price.

Well, looks like a leaf pack is on my list now. The one posted from wheelers sounds like it will suit me fine. I use the truck for daily driving along with hauling a snowmobile in the bed, or towing a trailer with 2 on it, and it the summer there's usually a quad in the bed or hauling the seadoo trailer.
