I have an 07 dbl cab I just hit 20,000 miles on it this week and noticed the "maintenance required" light flashing about 5 times when i first start it after that it goes off. Has anyone alses did this when they hit 20,000 miles.

Neds the oil changed...OR if it has been changed recently, you need to reset the light.

I'm not sure about 20,000 but my 05 does the exact same thing when its time to change the oil, if you look in your manual that's also what it says.

After you change it, reset the light.

Sounds like the oil change light. I would also like to point out since I do all my own oil changes is that you should still write down your miles on each oil change and go off of that vs what the car says. I say this because if you disconnect the battery for cleaning or whatever it will erase the oil change mile information from your cars computer on some cars. I'm not sure if this is true with the Tacoma's but it was the case with my 99 Firebird. So I always record the mile information after each oil change and go off of that.

That light will start flashing at 4500 miles after the last time it was reset.

And if it doesn't get reset, at 5,000 miles...it'll stay on constant.
