I don't have this protection on my current tires because they weren't purchased at Discount Tire (and luckily haven't needed it), but used to get the protection on tires when I had my Camaro. I think only once I needed a full replacement due to a ripped sidewall (run in with a storm drain, distracted by cute girl). If you can get cheap repair at work for like nails and shit, I wouldn't bother with the protection.

I wouldn't bother with it. I've only had one irreparable tire over the past 12 years, and by then it still came out cheaper to buy a new tire than what I would have paid for all four certificates over that period of time.

Are you gonna put those 235's on the 1st gen alloys? If so please post pics when they get mounted. I'm leaning toward a "tall and skinny" tire myself when the time is right.

Discount Tire also prorates tire replacement based on tread depth. For example, if you buy the tires and the next day have a catastrophic puncture, they will replace it for free, not sure about the labor, but the tire will be free. Say in a year you are at half the original tread depth, you pay half they pay half for a new tire.
