Exactly. We have harsh desert, sand dunes, rivers, lakes, high desert, huge mountain ranges, forests, grand canyon, meteor crater, snow!... Lol no natural disasters either. Az FTW! Haha

Yea Mike, probably about 500' or so shy of the top. Great hike btw, wish we could have made it all the way but the weather wasn't having it. Ice/snow going along a torturous path then climbing up the chute with upwards of 60mph winds didn't seem like a great idea haha...

This picture doesn't do it real justice... it looks a lot more threatening when you're there and taller haha..

    Also... cause I can.

Nice thanks for all the posts. Now that we have decided we are making the move for sure I want to get back there asap. My wife is done with school at the end of May so we are planning on sometime around then. If I can get a job back with Southwest Ambulance before then I will move out ahead of time just to secure the job since you never know when they will hire again. Talked with HR but they say they are currently overstaffed with EMTs and don't foresee hiring in the next 4 months or so. Holding off on medic school till I get back to Az though but it is definitely part of the plan. Been saving up some cash but haven't saved up the $12,000 I need to pay for school around here.

Those pictures look great. Since we were only there for a year I didn't really get out and explore my options that much but that looks right up my alley. A year sounds like awhile but with work and everything else it wasn't that much time at all. I'm excited to get back out there and make the most of it this time.
Can't say the job was the only reason we made the move back though. After living here on the coast most of my life and being able to surf, spearfish, swim, skimboard, and kayak within a 5 minute walk I felt kinda lost. All of the things I used to do for fun were gone. By no means am I trying to bash Az or anywhere else for that matter but all of "my" normal hobbies were gone. Now that we have been back in Santa Cruz for a couple of years I find myself doing less and less of the things I wanted to move back for. Not to mention paying more to rent an old rundown 2 bedroom place then we pay for our brand new home gets old pretty quick. The grass is always greener on the other side I guess.

Anyways enough with my rant. I can't wait to get back out there and meet up with some of you folks. I have heard that there is some ocean front property out there so if anyone has the hookup let me know j/k. Gonna need to find some new friends, and new hobbies to waste away all of my money on.

Gonna bring this one back from the dead! Moved everything back down to Az last weekend. My wife got a job with US bank and started last Monday. Just got a call from HR and looks like I have a job as well starting the 17th. Very excited to finally be back! Looking forward to being back and meeting some of the folks in Az!

Yeah trading Santa Cruz for Arizona. Love it in Cali but can't afford a home out here in this lifetime. I figure I can plan some vacations and still spearfish and abalone dive a couple times a year. I have also figured out a fix for the Dakar rear leaf squeak, move back to Goodyear and it will go away in 2 days tops!! My tools will also stop rusting as soon as I get there, living on the coast does have its downsides. Gonna load up my truck next Saturday with everything that didn't fit in the moving truck, we will see if it all fits. Anyone interested in my stock leaf srpings from my 2011, non-tsb?? Debating weather to bring them with me or not. Anyway looking forward to being out there. Would love to start mountain biking, fishing, snowboarding, hunting, camping, ASAP. Let me know...
