What year was A-Trac first available on the Tacoma? Also though my 2007 FJ Cruiser did not come with A-Trac it did have a locking diff and anti skid. All that was needed to "Turn on" A-Trac was a $60 switch. Would this maybe be true of a Tacoma?
Thanks in advance for any info.

It has been available since 2005 as an optional package on the 2005-2008 TRD Off Roads. The easiest way to tell is if your brake booster looks like this:

In 2009 they added an A-TRAC switch, and an indicator light on the dash. It also became standard equipment on the 2009+ TRD Off Road models.

The Tacoma was one of the last Toyota models to come with it as a standard system (on the Off Road TRD 4WD beginning in 2009)... as GP3 said, it was on some models as an option before.

The Lexus 4x4s, FJ Cruiser, 4Runner all had A-TRAC long before the Tacoma. There were earlier versions of A-TRAC as well that didn't operate the same or as well as the current version does.
