I don't remember paying 4.00 each for the locks, maybe 2.50 but the bonus of having 1 key for all of them would be nice. I ended up with 1 key for each door because the most of them with same key I could find was 3. So I went with 2 sets of 2 the same.

Thanks for sharing this, 2 weeks ago I walked out to the parking lot to jump in my truck and go home when I found the passanger bed storage door not in place. Dude took 2 nice ratchet straps and 4 OEM tiedowns . I could have used this a while ago.

Having trouble bending the lock thing. It actually snapped in half when I tried bending it. What did you guys use?

Complete noob question: this is so the latch fits up in the little slot right? I'm having a hard time with this mod and it seems like everyone is doing all this with ease :(.

13" shorty antenna truck bed locks pop & lock auto tailgate lock
Hi everyone, this is my first post. Just wanted to help other Taco owners.

I wanted to install truck bed box locks. I followed the previous posters tutorial. Great mod and works perfectly!

However, I wanted to install the cabinet locks in all 4 lock holes in the box covers- and the 2 under the rear seat. The cabinet locks that you would typically find at home depot are a couple of bucks and will save you money, but they're not meant for weathered applications. They're for cabinets! So, out of pure curiosity of the quality of these locks and to see if I could find 6 that were keyed the same, I spent about a week trolling my local Home Depots and Lowes to no avail. Good luck if you can find them, but my patience wore thin quickly.

Then, I searched ebay and came across the Pop & Lock bed locks. Homeboy wanted something like $60 for one lock. I even had to email him to clarify, $60 for ONE lock? Yep, he confirmed that was for one lock. That wasn't happening.

So, I remembered that a few years ago I got some free samples of fasteners and lanyards (which you still can!) from ITW Nexus. Maybe there was some other company that would hook me up. Enter SOUTHCO. I went to their website and they offer FREE samples. And it just so happened that they offer the EXACT LOCKS that us Taco owners need to fit the boxes covers- the CM Standards. These are made much better, commercial quality, and they're straight up tougher. As an added bonus, they also offer them as fixed-core, sealed latch-types in black, or chrome, whichever you prefer...

I went to southco.com and ordered the following:

6 each of the CM-2-1B109-2SB Locks (keyed alike and in black)
6 each of the CM-C414 0.25" Offset Cams 1.75" long.

I followed the previous posters tutorial, and was done in less than 15 minutes. Took me longer to clean up all the little black pieces of plastic I cut and drilled out of the covers. Locks fit perfectly. Didn't have to bend any cam, install and remove the cover, rebend and reinstall, etc...

I'll repeat. I got them FREE.

I'm not sure if there is a quantity limit from Southco (and I'm not that shady that I'd abuse their generosity), but you'll need to go to UPS or FedEx prior to ordering to set up a username and account. They don't charge for shipping, so don't worry... you won't have to enter a credit card number or anything. Only your shipping information.

    Hope this helps!
