Just got the MAINT REQD light because it has been a little over 5000 miles since my last oil change. I was planning on going to the dealership in another state (im on vacation and traveled well over 500 miles), but I just realized it's been two years today since I bought the truck. I only have 24850 miles on it. Do you think a local dealership will charge me even though the plan expired the day before. Are they pretty strict with their policy of 2 yr/25000 mi? Thanks

Without no experience..if they want to be a pain in the rear then yes they will say no...Will they? I have no idea..there know there are some nice dealerships out there that would do it.

Honestly it all depends on the dealership. We have done the service slightly both over time and mileage. Call and say you are on vacation yada yada and ask the flat out if they would honor it. Never hurts to ask. If you want to go by the letter of the plan then I guess no but you should get 5 services soooooo. :notsure:

That's my thinking as well. I know I wouldn't have any issues getting it done if I were back home, but I don't have any ties with these local dealerships. Just wanted to get other people's, if any, experiences. Thanks

Even if they don't cover you, an oil change with Dino oil is only 40 bucks so it's not too bad...
