    I am actually embarasssed by the lack of damage for killing a deer. I was tempted to go back and take a picture of the body just as evidence. Other than my word of mouth and the deer sweater covering my truck, that extension piece is the only carnage. Oh, and the life I took.

    don't tell the insurance company if you are going to fix it
    they will put an accident on the carfax for you, with $200 damage

    No point in turning it into insurance, the fire department said I did not need to file it with the police department unless I wanted to file an auto claim. New part and paint should be around $100.00 or less. If I fix it myself, probably $20.00 or less.

    Dude, judging from your picture, I wouldn't even bother fixing it. Its a truck, it is supposed to have some dings, scrapes, and scratches.
