And there you go. Many many stories like this end up with incompetent shops or techs, and the best remedy is to take it to another shop as soon as the first one says they can't fix it (or only try to sell you more tires). It seems more and more rare to find anyone who knows what the hell they are doing.

Did you get an alignment too, and do you have the numbers to post?

And what brand and model of shocks do you have? And what coils?

What is the Toyota dealer name and city that tried to kill you by not torquing your lugs? You should post this for everyone's benefit.

naw, its both back tires, and anyways I just have a stock spare. But i think these back ones will wear before the fronts so I can use the fronts as a spare/spares for when i need new tires.

I know, and i can totally understand people make mistakes. even the best tech can forget something, and sometimes that one mistake can be costly. My mom was an employee of TMS for lexus and knows how it is esp at dealers. you know those reviews or surveys they want u to do after getting service? those are huge, people have been fired over bad surveys. Although this was a pretty bad mistake that couldve caused major damage and even injuries/crashes.

Ill scan the alignment sheet in also but for now:
    Front:
    cross camber: -0.4
    cross caster: -0.4
    total toe: 0.00

    rear:
    cross camber: -0.2
    total toe: 0.01
    thrust angle: 0.16

oh i know, believe me, i was. because i get my service done at the dealers always because my mom is an associate. So to have my tires, ones I bought myself and werent paid for by the dealership, get cupped because they didnt rotate, balance, align, etc, gets me all riled up.

ive been busy with family visiting so thats why i havent checked/posted since a while ago. But I still am not sure about a couple things: The second shop I took it to (who actually balanced my tires and found the lug nuts were loose) said I shouldnt even have the dealer align it. I'm thinking of going back there and just having them re align it make sure its good.

Also they only did a regular type of balance, even tho they have the road force balancer. Should I have them road force balance the wheels to make sure they are as balanced as possible?

Cost isnt too big a factor with the road force or alignment because I'd rather have my truck in good condition instead of getting other problems or cause unnecessary wear. I can probably go back to the dealer and tell them this other shop got the numbers better and theyd reimburse me esp after that mishap with the lug nuts.

Thanks again guys, everyone has been a big help

here is the actual alignment numbers. is it bad to have different caster on both wheels? and does it matter that they put the tire size wrong? (265 instead of 285)

Also since it stopped raining and all, I jacked up the front and shook things about to see if anything seemed loose. When i wobbled the tire left and right/east west, it had some play. nothing north south though, so im not sure what that means. i got underneath and shook the UCAs, LCAs, tie rods, axels, and everything seemed fine. then i had a buddy wobble the tire side to side so i can see what it looks like underneath. the tie rod moves back and forth like it seems it should and it transfers all the way to the other side even. so when one side is wobbled, the other tire moves as well. so it doesnt seem like slop with the inner/outer tie rods or anything. i also checked and it seems to rotate the shaft comin out of the rack n pinion to the steering wheel. again i have no clue what this could be, if it even is a problem. some guys said to check there was no movement when i jacked the front up, so im just trying to fix whatever problems gave me the cupped tires in the first place. thanks again all
