stock rims painted

just gave this a shot, kinda came out like i thought it was going to. it would have been a lot easier to do with the tire off the truck because of runs, stinkin gravity, but i didnt.
step 1: wiped down area to paint with mineral spirits. (2 reasons for leaving the rest of the wheel dirty: 1 over spray would be easier to clean off dirty surface, 2 i was too lazy to clean the rest of my wheels just to clean over spray off again)
step 2: tape off outside area
step 3: paint first color
step 4: remove tape clean up edges and over spray and let dry (i waited a day)
step 5: tape off inside area
step 6: paint second color
step 7: repeat step 4

ill prolly clear coat in a day or so

 

i like it.

that was heritage satin red by rustoleum and valspar satin black by the way, the cap looked alot closer to impulse red than it turned out but when its covered in mud its almost a perfect match, its a touch brighter i think but its pretty close

 

I was originally gonna do black rims with insets red, but then figured that when I got new tires again it would get scratched up by the wheel weights, so audibled

 

Looks good man, very unique!

 

Maybe clean tires might help it look better?........
