    that would be Congress and President Ulysses S Grant in 1870.


    the history of the federal holiday (and others) is quite interesting. for this, google is your friend. :thumbsup:

    Watched a little thing on H2 about how Christmas came about. Very interesting.
    This was before Jesus was born (he wasn't born December 25th) and before the new world was even "discovered".
