About to order OME 885's with B-5100's. I will need to get thoes assembled, Should i just order the replacement bushing, washer kit and rent a spring compresor. ? Do i need anything else to assemble them?

    The Eibach kit is 920 $ ( )

I figued i can buy 885s with AAl and Bilistien 5100's front and rear and bushing kit for 620$ . Basically same thing just different coils and not assembled for 300$ less......

    What do you guys think?

Thats how I did mine. I bought it all from either downsouthmotorsports.com or toyteclifts. I got the 5100's (4), Eibach coils, AAL's, 3 degree shim for rear and 7.5" Ubolts. cost like 600 and took 4 hours to put it all on with a friend in a do it yourself garage.

885's with billies @ 0 should get you 2 1/2" on your DCLB

Eibachs with billies @ .85 will net you 2 1/4"

All i needed to assemble by nitrochargers and 885s was the shocks, coils, spring seat and the one nut and washer the shock comes with. You can reuse the stock top hat and bushings. So you just need to order the shocks and coils, unless you are doing top plate spacers then you might need longer studs. Compressing the coils is kind of a bitch and a little scary the first time.

Edit: just clicked your link. You might as well replace the bushings if you want because you will have everything apart anyway

If you don't already have the 5100s then I would get the OME shocks instead. They are better paired with the springs.

x2, i you are going with 885s you arnt going to use the adjustability of the 5100s anyway. Plus you can use the trim packer to help with tacolean

OME has packages with all 4 shocks, 885 springs, Dakar leaf pack, Toyota leaf bushing, carrier bearing drop and the trim spacer for the taco lean. It runs about $1000 give or take depending where you buy. This is a great kit and the Dakar leaf pack is so much better than an AAL.

Where in CT are you chris? I might be able to lend a hand with the install. Have you looked into UCAs?

5/15 tint, NFab step bars, Viper SST, Weathertech floor liners, Toyo A/T IIs on 17x9 XD Menace wheels. Lift - SPC LR UCAs, Wheelers 3 pc AAL, OME N140s, N182 and 885 w/ TP spacers.
Don't waste your time with a spring compressor and definitely do not pay to have springs compressed.
Drop the sway bar, remove caliper, loosen LCA bolts, seperate LBJ (two bolts), disconnect tie rod.
Loosen bottom strut bolt a little and jack up LCA.
Remove top nut off strut and slowly lower the LCA.
Remove bottom bolt and pull out decompressed strut and coil.
Stupid simple, took 5 minutes to remove coil and strut.
Top plate stays bolted to frame, install new strut and coil, set lower spring end in lower perch, rotate bottom end of spring towards rear of truck, put in lower bolt and nut.
Jack up LCA and put on top nut. Very simple.
Did my truck by myself over two nights - OME N140s struts, OME 885 coils, trim packer, ECGS bushing, LR UCAs and Wheelers 3 leaf progressive AAL. (Chose to go with N140s over the 90000 struts for softer ride).

I have more pics during the install, haven't had time to make a post yet.
Email me if you want pics or further details.

Here is factory strut/coil decompresed, (LCA lowered) about to be removed...

Did you loosen the caliper to take pressure off the line ?

I was tempted to build my coilovers like this. This install was my first time doing any major suspension work, enough people told me this way was dangerous so i decided to go the spring compressor route. I do agree that the no compressor method would save alot of time. But anyone that wants to attempt it this way who is lacking mechanical experience and common sense is probably not a good idea. I imagine that spring could do alot of damage if the installer did something stupid. Also in my case i replaced the upper control arms so i did not even have to touch the LCA or tierod. If i was able to do it again i would probably order then pre assembled from wheelers because i think they only charge $50.

Nice thing about pre-assembled is the time saved if you are on a tight schedule or paying someone to do or help in the install
