Hi folks. Trying to see if anyone has done this before so I do not have to reinvent the wheel. I have the Xsporter rack which comes with a crossbar of 71 inches. I need about six more inches to better accommodate carrying two canoes. Any simple ways of doing this (extensions) that would be easy on and off?

The rack has a slot in the crossarms, can you attach a 2x4 or something else the same shape to the top of the crossarms with some carriage bolts?

Yep. That will work. I can figure something out if nobody comes forward with a neat solution that they have already done. Thanks.
