I just bought an 05 TRD Sport, it's had the scoop made "Functional" by the previous owner. The air filter is QUITE dirty and I thought I could just take it apart and clean it, apparently not. Any guesses as to what filter this is, and if it can be cleaned or if I need a new one? If I need a new one, suggestions on a decent replacement that can be cleaned?

not sure what that filter is from but i wouldnt trust that scoop. you can get some/alot of rain and snow in there and risk getting it into the motor. then bye bye motor. cool mod but not for everyday driving

So probably best just to put the stock cover back on the filter? I was wondering about the rain/snow issue myself, especially here in Utah. And the air box and filter are REALLY dirty... Maybe I'll get a new filter and see how bad it gets.

But does anyone recognize that filter and if it can be cleaned or know what i need to replace it with?

Any sort of wording, lettering, numbers etc on the filter or filter neck anywhere?

you willl be fine with that setup, think of the urd intake......

by the design of our trucks front end, not much air makes it to the scoop anyways, I would just leave it
