the FR-S is the car that i have enjoyed changing the oil on the most. the oil filter is on top right next to the oil fill cap. this is the only time i have not ever, ever spilled any oil on the pavement. everything was so easy and clean it was just absolutely great

Is it a McPherson Strut or Double Wishbone car? Sorry I haven't really looked at one until this thread...

    not boosting as a DD.
yeah a decent car to drive but again, this motor is totally different from the previous EJ. Ill bet it still has a lot of oil burn & is under-powered for its price. Im not a numbers chaser, im a track guy and am not provoking an aurgument bc this is a matter of opinion. The low center of gravity is def a boxer benchmark but so is the difficult maint endevours.

Toyota and Sub agreed to not make forced induction systems for this vehicle until 2014-2015. Subaru has already made a forced induction FA20 motor (same as FR-S/BRZ) and put it in a Legacy GT is Japan. The compression was lowered to 10.5:1 and it uses a twin scroll turbo.

Toyota is in the process of making a TRD supercharger with a release date around 2014-2015 I believe. There will be a release of the BRZ STi in the near future but that date is unknown at this time.

I'm sorry you feel as though the FR-S is not a track car...maybe you should drive one, unless you have already and feel that slot race car handling isn't your thing.

I didn't find the older cars (pre '11) oil changes to be too horrible, but I guess its all up to personal preferances, to the best of my knowledge subaru changed all their new cars the the top mount oil filters. I don't see why you would need to lift the motor for plugs?? that seems like a hell of alot of work, even with a FMIC and moving the piping plugs don't take more than 30-45min, which is the time for the rear driver side plug on my 1GR with the TRD SC on it. lol

this is a good thread to read if anyone is thinking this motor is weaker than an of the stock EJ's, I wish my '06 STi would have held up to any where near this kinda power for 25 dyno pulls.

Thru my business I have drive a ton of cars, likely way more than most, car comfort is something I usually don't even think about anymore unless it really jumps out at me, the test on the BRZ was the first car in years that actually jumped out at me, most "sports cars" take form before function, this car does both very well
