i have a 2005 tacoma double cab trd sport v6.... I'm looking at doing the same type of lift. Would I be ok with the 884's? or would I need to step it up to the 885's? I don't have, or plan on putting any heavy/large bumper of the front either.

You can do 884s for a 2 inch lift. 885s if you want more.

I would say 884's would be fine. Just a tip if your going to install it; Use the wall mount Coil compressors. Dont mess with the crappy 20$ ones that you have to wrench down from both sides. If you dont have a wall mount take it into an alignment shop and hand the man a twenty. I made this mistake and it cost me way to much time in the shop.
