I thought this would be a kinda cool idea. if when I flipped my air locker switch the RR Diff Lock light would illuminate on my dash.

So I took my gauge cluster out and found where I bulb should be for the RR Diff Light. A quick run to Toyota and I had a socket and bulb for the the gauge cluster. I then traced the circuit to see where to connect a wire to. I stuck a wire in to the one that connects to the light. Whenever you ground that wire the light turns on.

    Here's a terrible diagram.

This is what happens when I ground the wire, I was in 4WD.

The switch for my locker has two grounding wires, one power wire, and an on/off wire that goes to the solenoid on the air compressor.

Is there any way to wire the light into my locker switch so it turns on when I turn the locker on?

If I knew more about wiring I'd chime in, but here is a free bump.

Actually, I might as well take a stab at this. I'd say splice into the hot wire from the switch and connect that to a relay. hook the ground from the light, and a ground from the body to the relay. Then I guess flipping on the switch would turn on the ground, thus lighting up you little bulb.

But that's a semi-educated guess right there, not sure if it'll work, or if it will make you burst into flames...:notsure:

Actually I accomplished this today. Using a 5-pin relay connect the following
    30- ground
    85- ground
86- the wire connected to the light
87- the wire that is hot when you flip the air locker switch

Super simple and costs less then 10 bucks
