I have a 2006 4door with the shatty JBL system. I just bought a Pioneer 3200DVD to replace head unit and realized the cost of harnesses! The previous owner removed sub from truck so I'm not worried about it that much, but which would be better sounding. Run all new speaker wires and run them off of new radio or spend a fortune on a harness to still run JBL amp to speakers?

I removed the sub and spliced into all the jbl wires and ran new wires up to the headunit so now the stock JBL speakers are running off my Kenwood DDX719

Did you splice into the wires from behind radio or run all new speaker wire to each one. Does it sound better or worse compared to using JBL harness?

Where the JBL amp came out I spliced all those wires. I used Lusitania to tap into positive and negative for each speaker and ran it up to the door panel to the radio. It wasn't ideal by any means, but it kept the JBL speakers, just used my headunit to power them instead of that weak excuse they call an amp...

Edit: found my original post where I asked about it with pictures... Unfortunately the diagram that someone posted showing wiring diagram is no longer working... This might help answer a couple questions though...

Thanks Man, and just get a regular radio harness and that will work? Sorry for all the questions, but I hate this JBL shit

That sure would beat the route I took! Haha, and like they said in the other thread, that is definitely a better and more reliable option!
