eBay turbo for a 2010 tacoma V6

Hey everyone. I was wondering if I could just buy a cheap turbo from eBay and build the intake with air intake piping from auto zone and leave the intercooler out. I would only want a turbo pushing about 7-8 psi so I really wouldn't need an intercooler, but would I need to upgrade anything else so the engine could hold the turbo?

No, no, no. Please do it right the first time. The engine can handle that with no issues on a good tune, but those parts won't.

 

I like buying stuff from EBay but i would never give a turbo a thought from ebay..it could all go downhill fast

 

I think A lot of it would depend on how big of a gambler you are.

If you're willing to roll the dice and take the chance it could cost you the price of a new motor, I would say go for it. I'd look at it like this; say you get a turbo for free and you build your own "fit kit" then install it yourself. Obviously, you'd save yourself a lot of money but would it be enough to make it worth it if things go south and you toast the motor.

Personally, I'm not that big of a gambler and I usually take the conservative approach so it wouldn't be worth it for me. But, that's just one mans opinion and you know what they say about opinions...

 

Id save ur money and contact gadget at URD for a supercharger kit
