I am going to install a Pioneer AVH-P3400BH head unit tomorrow . There are 3 wires that do not match up to the wire harness. Blue/white labeled System Remote Control, violet/white labeled Reverse Gear Signal Input, & yellow/black labeled Mute. Are these needed or do they correspond to different colored wires on the harness? Is it possible that I have the wrong wire harness?

Blue and White is to power on amps, yellow black is mute, you would wire that to a switch then ground the switch to mute the system. Its for thugz with big systems that want to avoid noise violations when cops roll by. Reverse is for triggering the back up camera if installed. If you don't have one, don't worry about it. Same with blue and white.

Great, I don't need any of them unless I start living the thug life. Now i just need to figure out where to plug the steering wheel control adapter into the head unit. Thanks for the help.
