x2. The only stock coils I wouldn't preload are the stock OR coils and even those would be fine up to 1.75.

Hell, even at 0 height the Bilstein 5100s ride better than stock TRD Off Road yellow Bilsteins. It's the difference between a $100 shock and a $30 shock (probably what Toyota pays for it...)

With Bilstein 5100s, your options for coils are OME 883, 884, 885 or Eibach coils (or stock coils).

With the 5100's set at 0, here's the lift you can expect roughly:
    883's ~ 1.5" of lift
    884's ~ 2"
    885's ~ 2.5"
    Eibachs ~ 1.6"

You can preload the 5100's up to .85 with the Eibachs to get up to 2.5" of lift if you want. You can also add short top plate spacers to get up to a full 3" of lift.

Good description. What would give the best ride quality with atleast 2.5" of lift?

I don't think so. yes the bilstein 5100's are "better" than the stock coils, however if you were to compare the stock set up with a top plate spacer, vs 5100's with compressed the stock coils, the stock coil will be a smoother ride, as the coil isn't compressed.

I've had 5100's with stock coils, and it was fine, but definitely not better than what I have now, which is an above coil spacer.

they are however different, for me going bak and forth to work, and driving dirt roads, my set up is fine. if you are going to cycle the suspension, then I'd get 5100's AND new coils to work well together.

I bought my truck with the revtek spacer up front and block in the back, it rides pretty rough though, I have OME and Billys front and rear now, but for your buget and what its going to be used for you'll be ok. like Oz-T said its going to ride like a $300 lift.
