Replacing Stock Dual Cats

I'm upgrading the exaust on my 2001 Tacoma 3.4L. I've been told from several people a catback isn't a good investment for my second gen. 3.4L, as far as increasing performance. I've got two stock cats on now, but it looks like the two sensors are connect to just one cat. I've already put on a Flowmax muffler, next I want to replace the two cats with one highflow cat, then put on some headers. Does anyone know a good highflow cat for second gen. Tacos?

 

yours still counts as a 1st gen taco 95-04 2nd gen are 05-up. they run a 4.0L
I have an '04. I removed my front cat when I installed my headers. Mostly because the inlet and outlet for both cats is 2". i am ordering a magnaflow highflow 2.5" cat today. It will be installed next week in place of my second cat. I can let you know then if it is a good buy. Here is a pic of how I replaced my first cat. However you would need to allow a place for your o2 sensor. My doug thorley headers ($600) had a place for it. Also I don't know if removing the second cat is going to throw a code. I removed the 1st one without any problems.
