The lights themselves, I got at Pep Boys. I used a total of 9 singles and two "pods" of 6 each. There are 3 singles in the overhead, and 3 on either side of the back of the console lighting the rear footwell. Then I used flared rubber washers from a faucet repair kit at Lowes as a "lamp shade" of sorts. The shades keep the direct light out of sight when your driving, which was originally quite distracting. No issues at all though with the shades installed. Here are some shots of what I used:

These pods light the front footwells. I have one each stuck to the side of the ductwork.

    IMG_0188_dd157a03e10e0f92ef0174418a3be30974c7746f.jpg

These are the individual lights. I bought 3 packs of 3.

This is how it looks in the daytime:

Here are the lights in the back of the console. In a bind, I ended up using different types of lamp shades, and it really shows. I will get that sorted out soon.

Finally, these are the lamp shades I used. They are a must if you do something like this. Otherwise, I guarantee that direct LED lights mounted in the overhead console will be a distraction. There are about a zillion options at Lowes, each slightly different from the last. I like these because of the flare on the outside, and the base is slightly concave, allowing it to fit nicely against the console surface.

I hardwired everything up to a "hot-with-lights-on" wire that I tapped into behind the climate control panel. I can't say enough about the "pucker factor" involved with drilling holes this size in a truck you've had for 72 hours. Just be careful, and start with a small hole and work your way up to the full size. A large drill bit straight into the console plastic would likely walk on you and mar your surface.

I like the idea. I've been thinking about doing something similar, but subtler with red LEDs. The only reason I'm not doing it is because I have next to zero wiring experience and I wouldnt know how to do that portion of it.
