I have an '06 x-runner and while at the gas station today a kid came up and asked me if mine was the supercharged version - as in factory supercharged. Like it was a factory option. Like when I go to the dealership they ask me if it's the S/C or N/A version. He then proceeded to tell me that this was an out the door factory option, etc.

Is there any truth to any of this?

I know that dealers provide the option but, from the way it reads, it's after you take delivery of the vehicle and so on.

Also, anybody know what year they made that "option" available?

    Thanks

    bunch of crap

not at my dealership. u can always buy it and roll it into the total package. whether u get it installed right away at 20 miles or 3000 is another story. now my dealership does build some vehicles with a bunch of goodies brand new and sell them like that. but its mostly lifts, bumpers stuff like that. never chargers...

I always explain it as an undocumented accessory you can purchase with your vehicle and maintain the full factory warranty.

^^This. Kid was just trying to act like he knew his shit. The blower isn't part of a factory package but you can have it installed on the vehicle before you take delivery. No different than adding OEM running boards to a new truck.
