I dont know a damn thing about remote start. Does anyone have a 2nd gen with it? I'd like to get some details as in price, how it works etc. I have a 07 DCSB with a manual tranny.

I've had them before in prior vehicles, but not this one yet. I don't think remote starters can be done with manual tranny vehicles.

    I could be wrong though.

Yes. Cost about 300 prolly more cause you'll need clutch override worked in. Any stereo store can do it .

    The end

I was thinking that too, but I was wondering if theres a way to tap into the clutch/start/cancel to do it.

    yes there is a way

just google "remote start manual" and you'll get really good results. i've seen a couple kits that disables the remote start if its in gear.

I have the campustar 2w9000fmr installed in my manual 2010 double cab. It's a starter/alarm and I love it. Not sure about cost to get it done cuz I got it done by a buddy.. Make sure wherever you take it that they are certified and back their work.

When you stop the truck pull the ebrake, take your foot off the brakes and turn off the truck it stays running till you shut all the doors. The alarm turns on itself too. Then it's set to start with command start. If you touch the brake or open a door it makes it so you can't use command start it until you do the sequence again.

Do you know if it needs an interface module to override the factory inmobilizer system?

If don't know what it is, the next question is: if you do a copy of the key do you need to program the key or just need to "cut" the key and it will start the truck?

If don't know about any of previous answers, a copy of the key cost just like $10 or like $80+?

I don't know the answers to the qustions above... I have never and would never attempt to install an alarm/starter in any of my vehicles. Way too many wires/pins/sensors/etc to even begin.. That's why I suggested going to a certified dealer that will back their work. If you have any problems they will have to take care of it. It might cost a little more in the beginning but well worth it in my opinion.

I've had alarm/starters in all of my vehicles, and all were manuals but one. Never had a problem with any of them.
