My Tsunami capacitor that is before my two amps has been ringing on and off lately. I looked at their manual and it says that the capacitor will produce an audible warning if it receives less than 10 amps or more than 17. There is also an LCD screen on it with the amount of amps and I am noticing that it ringing because the amps are around 9.5.

Now I am not noticing any problems with any of the music, amps, subs etc... Any idea why the capacitor is dropping below 10amps?

Possibly alternator going bad? Battery on the way out? Pinched wiring, bad ground?

my bet would be alternator or battery. I've had weird electrical issues ever since a little accident in the desert. If my windows are down and I push the button to roll them down more, my truck drops idle quite a bit and starts shaking.

If I turn my blinker on, every time the light goes on it drops idle and you can feel the truck shake, just a little, on every blink..those are just some examples.

I tested the alternator with a voltmeter and the numbers it gave me read back fine.

When you tested the alternator, was it under load? The circuity for regulators in these new alternators can go bad, esp. if they've gotten wet. It sounds like your alternator to me too. If you can pull it out and get it tested under load at the parts store, that should give you more information.

I first tried it with the truck off and it read between 12.5 and 13. When I turned it on and turned the AC and headlights on it read about 13.9-14.4

That was going off the battery. That is how I was told to test an alternator.

Perhaps check the wiring. Something may have worked loose, leading to a voltage/amperage drop. That's all I can think of. Good luck.

Thanks for the suggestions Richard. I'll give the wiring a check near the capacitor.
