The rainy season around here typically means two things.

    1) I get my own "secluded" parking spot at work :D

 hahahaha ann’t that the truth. I try and keep as much as i can from here. I’ll tell dad more stuff, because he does not worry and half the time he could not care less. Mine is worrying enough about me driving 653 miles or so and about 12 hours.

So I've been back and forth and I know there are a lot of forums on this topic but I thought I would get your up-to-date thoughts on this.....

I've been looking at a block/spacer lift (I know what alot of people think of them but it's all I really need because I don't off-road much at all). The price is good and it will maintain the stock ride quality which i'm aiming for.

    BUT

I'd also like to get a 3" suspension lift whether it be OME or bilsteins. Of course there is a significant increase in cost but what I"m most concerned about/on the fence about is ride quality.

Will the 3" suspension lift be firm/stiff ride compared to stock? if so, by how much?

Any suggestions on what I could/should do to get a lift while still maintaining stock or near stock ride quality?

If you go with the 884 ome coils (assuming you don't have any aftermarket bumpers, skids or a which and such) on the front and the dakar leaf springs in the rear with matching shocks on all 4 corners it should be a smoother and improved ride overstock.

But in all honestly if you don't offroad and don't really plan too, You could just save the money and get the spacer lift. Almost every jacked up rig you see on the roads today runs spacer lifts. Spacer lifts are cheap and easy. Supposedly they make it ride rougher, but I don't buy into that if you are just driving it on the street.

Replaced the cylinder head cover gaskets. I'm at 100K and it was leaking ever-so-slightly from the back. Once I removed it I found it was something similar to peanut brittle. This explains why I also had a little oil in with my spark plugs, when I changed them. I would suggest changing the cylinder head cover gasket with the 100k spark plug change on the 2TR-FE.

    paid it off

changed the cabin filter for the first time @53k miles...wasen't really that bad either.

    passed safety check(inspection)

on a side-note, had to tow my dd celica home for a chewed up starter, on the 3rd starter in 9 months...I guess my car has a sweet tooth for starters. The tow and starter were both covered, insurance and warranty. yay.

oh also i got oil changed yesterday(before going off the road, i was on my way home when i went off the road) they fixed the spiral/clock spring with out any paper work from me or me even asking. :woot: they told me when they came and said it was done. they fixed it so that nothing will happen, kinda like a precautionary thing i guess. so i don’t have to worry about that now. they did new cabin filter as well.(i new i needed on and just had them do it while they had the truck) everything only took like 1h or so.

Fox Toyota/Scion in Clinton TN is top notch!
