Hitting bumps at speed is where the Eibach/5100 combo is fun :) Go 30 down a chopped up, pothole riddled city street and you'll see what's meant by a rough ride. I hit speed bumps at 20-30 MPH all the time with mine and love how they get soaked up. Even had it air born once :anonymous:

Since you guys are talking about 5100's I just bought a 2013 Double cab Sport 2wd. If I want to just level the truck out by lifting the front will 5100's do the trick? Should I get something else or go a different route?
    thanks!

Sorry to hack the thread just didn't want to start another one!

Yeah 5100's set at either .85" or 1.75" to level it out. I did 1.75" and love it but I also don't put much weight in my bed on a daily basis. When I do it sags a little.

Do I have to worry about changing the coils? wouldn't lifting it with the shocks kind of stretch the existing ones? I'm not very knowledgable about the suspension stuff so exuse my ignorance please.

You can use stock coils with the Adj. Billy 5100's at 1.75". If you use aftermarket like OME (Old Man Emu) coils you will get more than 1.75" of lift and that's also considered preloading which you don't want to do.
If you purchase the shock billy 5100s and set them to either .85" or 1.75" you can use them with your stock set up. It's exactly what I have.

So yes the adj. 5100s work with your stock coils you just need to put them together.
If your looking to go over 2" I do not recommend setting the Adj. Billy's to 2.5" cause your alignment will be messed up along with problems down the road adjusting the shocks that high.

First, check this thread out if you are unfamiliar with suspension types and lift options:
    http://www.tacomaworld.com/forum/suspension/11282-tacoma-lift-faq-guide-read.html

Bilstein 5100 shocks work by preloading the stock coil. The coil seat on the bottom has 4 settings, a 0 or stock setting, .85" of lift, 1.75" lift and 2.5" lift. You just set the seat at whatever height you wish and reinstall the stock coils. To figure out which setting to use to level the truck, measure between the center of the hub and the fender on the front and back while the truck is sitting level. The difference will be the setting you need to level the truck.

If you prefer not to preload the coils and want to lift using lift coils, you have plenty of options and lots of price ranges. For just leveling, the 5100's are a good, cost effective solution.
