Mostly, some of it is in the seat back but probably 90% is in the headrest. Doesn't happen when my wife's in the passenger seat. The truck only has 1200 miles and I don't think anything is broken but damn it's annoying!

The front passanger seat in my '12 is a little loose; the whole seatback has about 1/8" of fore/aft play in it. I asked about it when I brought it in for its first oil change at 5000 miles and was told it was common, just a little quirck. I didn't have time to check, but they said they went to the lot at the dealer and found several new vehicles with the same amount of play in the front passanger seat.
Short answer, I was told there's nothing we'll do about it.

My 11 does this. Not really a rattle but I have noticed it vibrating at certain speeds.

Do you have sport seats or regular seats in that '12?

I wonder if it's something related to the fold down action of the regular seats. In my '13 the front sport seats are both very firm with no play or noises at all. It's definitely not a quirck with all Tacomas.

I have a '13 v6 Prerunner and I occasionally hear the passenger side seatbelt buckle rattle against the door jamb when the seatbelt is not in use.

Haven't noticed anything from the passenger side seat headrest. Sounds like a trip to the dealer to have them fix it. Maybe something is loose in the seat itself? Also, have you adjusted the angle of the seatback (maybe fold it all the way flat) to see if the rattle happens at various seatback angles?

Please keep us posted on how this is eventually fixed.

Believe they're the regular, with the passenger seat fold flat feature. I've tried various seat position but there's still some play. It's a 12 SR5 4X4 V6

Yes, I thought the same thing on my truck and come to find out it was the seatbelt buckle, take the buckle and insert it into the seatbelt and drive for awhile and you will find the rattle went away, at least it did on my 2013 Truck

My '11's passenger seat-upright rocks back and forth by about 1/8'' when I am going over bumps. Doesn't really make any noise though, and the seat is still very stable.
