Sounds like you're on the right track, If it were warmer outside it would be easier. So get out there and freeze your a$$ off

I forget how to remove the one from the grill but I don't think it is difficult. I removed mine when I replaced my grill however/

I used dental floss and a heat gun. The heat gun is gonna work wonders for you. As for the front emblem in the grille your best bet is to use a small flat head screw driver and pop the top out of the grille. Good luck make sure you tape where they are so you have a guide when you put them back on.

THe one on the grill has 3 tabs on the back. Very easy to get off. Blow dryer helps. Just saw the line back and forth. Some say WD-40 works to get the sticky off the truck. I used goo gone.

Satoshi'd grill. blacked out badges. aftermarket sound system. De-chromed and color matched. OME 885s + Dakars with 3rd leaf removed. LR UCAs. Scs stealth 6 with 285 duratracs. BAMF sliders
You don't need to remove them to plasti dip them. But i did mine with fishing line and a hair dryer. Ill see if i can find some info on the method of not removing them, but basiclly tape off a square, give yourself a few inches around the emblem and tape the surrounding area really well. Spray the emblem and surrounding area with the derp, when it dries peel it off the truck and it should stay on the emblem but not your paint. Dont take my word for it, i haven't done this but i have heard of people doing it.

On the 05-11 trucks the grill emblem is clipped in, I assume it is the same on the newer models. You can take the grill out and pop it out from the backside.

Use a hair dryer or heat gun to soften the adhesive on the badges. This will make it easier to work the fishing line behind it. Just be careful not to heat it too much with a heat gun.

My bad meant to say I dipped them earlier today on the truck but there was still some water inside the o's. that i didn't see everything turned out great besides those 2 letters. It didnt stick to good only on the insides, which u can only see it from up close. How bout peeling off that letter and redoing it, or starting al over again?

You can plati dip the tailgate and side emblems while they are on the truck you don't need to take them off "IF" you are using plasti dip. If you do take the emblems off using a heat gun I'd be careful because you can mess up your paint. To remove the emblem when you open your hood and look at the backside of it you will see two little tabs on each side and possibly one on the bottom. The two on the sides can be pressed toward the middle of the grill and that allows the emblem to slide out the bottom tab is like a hinge once the two tabs on the sides are pressed in and emblem pushed forward the bottom tab just slides out. Bam emblem removed, very simple process.
