have to revive this thread. found an oil spot on the mat, and oil on the servo motor like in the OP's second pic. I have only 39,692 miles on my 08. hopefully nothing goes bad on mines, as mine is out of warranty. OP how's yours one holding up? anyone else who has this leak, should I be concern?

Good to know. Thanks for posting this. I was just under there wiring up my foot well lighting and came away with some oil on my hand. Couldn't tell where it came from.

I am curious, of those who have this issue, are you guys switching between modes often, or hardly ever? Just wondering if the grease is getting dispersed from use of the part or?

I switch my mode often, from where a/c air comes out from the vents, or combo of both vent and foot well. got me worried that I might have a leak or something from the a/c system.

I'd check the skewp. It might be leaking its turbo juice.

Today I had a nice little pool of clear oil on my passenger side weathertech as well. I wiped my hand across the underside of the dash and caught drips of oil coming from an area 3-4in to the left of the glovebox.

I'll pull my glovebox tomorrow to investigate. It sounds like it'll be the same as OP's find.

Is it worth addressing the issue? Anyone have a failure or adverse situation (besides oily mats and dash-area)?

I usually don't switch my air controls at all, but with our weird weather lately, I've been changing fan speeds, temp., and vents, which lines up well with OP's find as well.

Thanks for this post, OP! Sounds like a faulty design on Toyota's part.

I havent had any issues or any more oil/grease on my weathertechs since I cleaned the excess oil/grease from under my dash. I have changed the control setting many times the past few months. Everything is working fine. Maybe the motors just had to much grease installed to start with. Hopefully yours will be the same......
