I have replaced 4 windshields on my Tacoma. Is this a systemic problem or am I alone on this one? Any ideas on how to protect the windshield from small rocks while driving?

    Holy crap, that's terrible!

Prior owner may have replaced 1 here, but that's all I know of since 2006

I've got a ton of peppered marks on my windshield and 3 larger rock hits. No actual cracks. I'm thinking I will get mine replaced at some point.

I'v had my taco for 3 months now. This past weekend I got my first rock chip, but it was in a parking lot at low speed. No idea how that happened....and of course it cracked and spread about a foot and a half 15 minutes later. Weak windshield or just bad luck...not sure.

I just drive around with cracks/chips in my windshield....

    Unless it's really bad.

It's only a matter of time before you get one... or 10 here

I've got one chip on my windshield and it is peppered when directly in the sun. I'll get it replaced sooner or later. I have a bug deflector. I think it is either paint chips on the hood or chips on the windshield.

Op (no disrespect) but do you tend to tailgate? You could try giving more following distance of big rigs and other trucks to reduce your chances of getting a chipped windshield. My brother has a problem with chips in his hood and windshield and I don't. We both drive the same roads but he drives like is in training for the NASCAR truck series.
