Front Wheel Bearing Installation HELP

    All, thanks for all your good posts. You helped me change my rear drums last month. Tonight I'm working on the front wheel bearings. Its a shame my first post is asking for help, but sometimes you just gotta suck in your pride and ask for it.

    I've looked at the diy posts with photos on Tacoworld, but they don't seem to resolve my issue.

    Truck is a 2006 PreRunner.

    Ordered Timken hub and wheel bearing assemblies under the impression that this would prevent me from needing a press. HOWEVER. I cannot get the hubs off of the stud assembly (incorrect terminology; see photo).

    Does the old hub have to be pressed off? seems defeat the purpose of buying the bearing/hub assembly.

    yes needs to be pressed
    that is not a hub that you bought that is a bearing assembly
    this is a hub

    and you will need seal as well

    And even if you bought a new hub you will still need a press
