Ok, so i've been testing out my dvd ripping programs. i've been using Mac the Ripper. So far it has burned pretty much everything. So i thought i'd try one of my newer more advanced DVD's. Well my sister got me WALL-E for christmas and i figured since it was a disney movie it would have all kinds of protection stuff. So i put it in and get a warning that it was protected by something (cant remember what it said) but either way it started ripping. but halfway through i noticed it was taking up 59.8 gigs on my hard drive. keep in mind this is a regular DVD, not a blu ray. so how can once movie take up 60 gigs on a hard drive? is that part of the disk security? any of you computer guru's have any idea?

apparently its an issue with wall-e's protection stuff. it is a security measure that makes your ripper make multiple copies of certain sections. what a pain in the ass

if you have a pc, anydvd or ripit4me with dvd decrypter installed will take that protection scheme down

actually i didn't try just to movie, i tried to do a full extraction. its no big deal, i was just doing it out of curiosity and trying out my new software

actually, from what i read on the forums those had issues too. there was one program (forget what its called now) that worked but almost all the ripping software out there was stumped by it. i have a feeling disney and sony dvd's are gonna be tricky

if you have it give it a try and let me know what it says. you may not have an issue with it but from what i gathered most rippers do. there are of course ways around it but prolly more trouble than its worth
