Hmmmm, you just gave me an idea, I should be able to just turn the seat facing backwards, than it should be fine.

 

Might as well tow it to the junk yard now. Insurance probably wont even touch it

 

So, the insurance just called and said they are first going to try and put it on a seat belt stretcher. Shouldn't I be worried that it won't be as safe after? What about rust? I wonder if they'll re-coat the seat belt when they're done.

 

if they do re-coat, make sure you are there to supervise. . . . if its not oem stuff, its crap. plasti-dip should work ok too
