First off I want to say that with out this site I would have been really lost in my mods. Love the tips and builds. Im basing all these tips and advise from my Tacoma and its a 2008 prerunner TRD sport.

Now to address the steering wheel shake that happens at high speed on Tacoma. After hours of researching this issue seems a lot of you are experiencing this and there dosent seem to be a real fix. Well here it is.
Tacoma's are called hub centric. That means they balance at the hub and not the lug. Now the easy fix to some of your issues are to have your tires balanced. If that dosent work or the problem comes back then the issue is at the hub.
If you have spacers as I do then they need to be hub centric meaning they need to have a small lip on the spacer that the rim will balance on. If you have after market rims then the bore size of the rim might be larger then the factory hub, which is 106. So if the aftermarket rim is larger it will wobble and your steering wheel will shake. You need to get centric rings to make the rim fit tightly to the hub.
Now I did a 3 in lift and put 285/75/17 on my tacoma before I noticed that the steering was off. After 2 alignments at $70 per I took to Tacoma World and found my answer. If you lift your truck you will need new Upper Control Arms also known as UCA. I purchased my at fatbobsgarage.com and they were only $395 with shipping. The brand is Light Racing and they come with a fully adjustable and covered ball joint, by far the best bang for your buck.
Now I have seen a lot of questions about the long bolt that holds the UCA in. Yes you need to bend the metal wheel well out just a bit to remove. They did this so that if your nut ever came out the bolt would not wiggle out as well. You can easily bend it back in when done. Also be sure to unscrew the front air bag sensor. Its a black and yellow colored wire cover and can be accessed just in front of the radiator. The long bolt will get hung up this wire and it will detach, as I found out too late and need to replace the sensor. Youtube has a lot of videos on these fixes, you can even look up LR UCA replacement. As for the camber and caster issues. I set mine to 0 and let my suspension guy adjust them during my alignment, trust me and pony up the extra $20-$40 to have it done by a good mech. Do not go to Pepboys, Autozone or even Big O because all they know is tires and not how a tacomas front end works.
Once I got my UCA's in and the correct spacers that are hub centric my alignment is good and the truck rides like stock.
If your just doing a leveling kit I cant see the need for UCA's but anything over 2" you will need these.

Hope this helps some people out and saves you money on balancing, road force testing, alignments and going to the dealership because they have a special tool to balance. Ive heard all of those ideas and some may be true but my off road suspension mech helped me out with all of this and the results are golden.
Good luck and keep posting those awesome Taco's
