lift vs tire size?

    3" levelling kit, k&n cold air intake, throttle body spacer, head lights and tail lights, 16" gear wheels
    I am currently looking into buying a 6 inch pro comp lift but was curious as to why every 6 inch lift states that I must run at least 17 " wheels. Why is that? Is it possible to run 16" wheels on a pro comp lift?
