    Hey all -

Big thanks to the regulars on here, you helped me make a big choice. I'll likely be a regular n00b in here soon.

Anyways, I'm 90% settled on a new 2013 Taco model 7594, OC package (DC, SB, 4x4, TRD OR, V6, AT). Whew.

I've got a fella that offered me $29,561.00.00+fees = $32,562.94 out the door. Getting anyone below $30k on the sticker has been a struggle. I feel like I'm getting a hell of a deal and have flat-out been laughed at / called on BS by other dealers.

    Think I should bite?

    Peace,

    D

I think this NPR show was really useful in negotiating a car price. The basics "gist" was that you put the negotiation in their hands, admit value, but stick to your guns on a number that is fair to both of you, but perhaps lower than others could attain because of your tactics. Things like going at the end of the month is also helpful, but this is also the time of year when truck dealers know demand is high, so even waiting a few months could net you a very good price.

That audio is about an FBI hostage negotiator that goes to buy a truck. He tells a pretty fascinating story that I learned a ton from listening to.

    Give 'er a whirl.

Yeah that is a great story! I listen to Planet Money all the time... I've already had a few salesmen storm away from the table (and metaphorically via email).

I've just been playing the dealerships off of one another via email. Down 10% off MSRP after a couple hours of emailing seems like a good effort.

Just wanted to check in with the fellas on this forum to see if the gearheads and wheelers approve of new 2013 Model 7594 w/ OC @ $29,5.

So did I. I wish I could've heard that a couple days ago before I bought my truck. I would've nibbled a little to get a little more.
