When I put the brakes on, the left blinkers blink and the blinker light on the dash stays solid, when i put the left blinker on the taillights flash, and the brake light over the cab flashes as well. Any ideas? ty

This all just started randomly? Do you have any practical jokers in your family or close friends that happen to be handy with wiring? Sounds like you have a short somewhere and the wires are rubbing unless you have done some wiring yourself recently like maybe added trailer wiring.

Did you change any bulbs recently?

I had a similar thing happen to me when I was younger with my first car... I put the wrong bulb in. I think it was a 2 filiment brake and tail light into a single filiment socket or vice versa.

Wild guess is its going to be something in the hitch harness.. Had 2 pals with crazy things happening to there pick up lights (1 ford,1 chev) both ended up being in the hitch harness. First place I would start looking. Sometimes the lil boxes to split the wires just go bad inside.

What year truck do you have? led brake lights? Check for bad ground in left tail circuit. If one fails it can back feed through other loads to find ground. Check for bad insulation in left tail lamp harness. Corrosion in light socket, bad bulb.

Maineah beat me to it. I would check the grounds first to see if there are any that are loose or corroded. A voltage drop test would help with that. Also a faulty multifunction switch will do similar things as well. I will be happy to look up wiring information if you will post the information about your truck (Year, make, model, trans type, etc)
