Replacement Washer Fluid Reservoir Neck?

    Contemplating racing stripes, a NOS sticker, & some glasspacks. I hear they make you go faster...
    The neck on my washer fluid reservoir is leaking, but the lower portion is intact...

    Does anyone know if the filler neck itself can be replaced or will I have to replace the entire assembly?

    Also, can anyone recommend a vendor OTHER than the dealership?

    I'm trying to avoid some "Southern Engineering" but I'm not opposed to it! :mudding:

    Same here, my cracked and was leaking and I bandaged it up with duct tape. Would like a more permanent solution as well.

    ARB bumper, warn 9.5 winch. carbon fiber hood. Leer top with thule racks and MOAB from thule. Electric fans, blue sea fuse block, Sony dvd Head unit, Xm tuner and HD tuner. New carpet and new racing seats. ( other half doesnt like them i think). Nwor springs and adjustable coil overs. Sky jacker rear shocks. Slot and drilled rotors. Engine Titanium ceramic coated headers, no cat, jba cat back. URD Rear Sensor Simulator. Leds all around and inside cab and HID H4 hi/lo beams.
    Fiberglass the neck.. I should have done that with mine.

    I replaced mine last year... kicked my self for doing it.

    $75 is too much for something that is probably going to crack again. May do the fiberglass or perhaps another solution.

    Finally got around to fixing this. Used the fiberglass repair method. Pretty easy to do, but fiberglass is messy. Use gloves! Access through wheel well, remove 4x10mm bolts, unplug connector, unplug washer hose. Reservoir will drop down. Make sure you clean the neck good and remove dirt. I used 5x2inch fiberglass strips. Working from top down (so overlap doesn't create upward facing pocket) I just layered the strips all the way to the bottom. Waited until cured, then reinstalled. I'm leaving the deckplate on (from deckplate mod of air filter box) so I don't pop a maf code. Will removed deckplate again in a few days. Overall pretty easy to do. It's not a work of art, but it should last the life of the truck.

    Access through wheel well and remove 4 bolts:

    I dig it! I'll tackle it when the weather stays warmer longer than a day or two. We had snow yesterday & it was 70 today...ugh!

    If it's only age cracked, find a TAP plastics near you an buy a quart of gelcoat :D

    I did that for my sisters Camry that was old and weathered and hasn't leaked a drop since.

    Where did 15 years come from? Mine started cracking at 4 years.

    They don't last that long. It's probably been that way for years. I was living with mine for years with duct tape around it. It's not a vital component though, so many people, as did I, just live with it. Which brings me back to my original point... I wouldn't pay $75... or even $10... for something that is proven to fail. I had extra fiberglass from my Satoshi and it is rock solid know for as long as I own the truck.

    I have the same issue. Cracked neck. Instead of fixing or replacing that one, I've been thinking about relocating the whole thing to the empty space where ABS would be. Looks like a lot of guys who run aftermarket bumpers are doing this, so I might hop on that route.

    Not a bad idea.
    You can use an OTC radiator overflow retrofit tank and OTC standalone pump.

    Yea. There's a handful of write-ups in the sticky in this section. Some people even used a nalgean bottle. Looks like they just drilled a hole, and reused the old pump, and just rerouted the wires/tubes.

    A reservoir from a 4runner will bolt directly in. And those have removable necks. The necks on them must be made from something different because they don't crack like tacomas. It does have 2 pumps though. So either modify it or you can try carefully removing the neck from the tacoma reservoir and then figure out a way to have the 4runner neck in it.
